Description
It's a baked sugar into which a few drops of bergamot essence have been added. Bergamot essence, extracted from the fruit of the bergamot tree, is a natural product. Nancy's Bergamot candy is made without colorants.
It comes in the form of small, square, flat pieces, with an attractive golden color.
Bergamot trees are found mainly in Calabria, in southern Italy. Bergamot became famous when an Italian joined his nephew in Cologne. Together they created the famous Eau de Cologne, made with bergamot essence. Bergamot was launched.
At the 1909 Nancy International Exhibition, metal tins featuring Nancy's famous Place Stanislas were launched.
